Miguel Peón has become a member of our Research Support team. He will be working as a Post-Doc Researcher from February 2015 under the supervision of Dr. Vincenzo Mancuso, Research Associate Professor at IMDEA Networks Institute. Miguel will work on the MONROE project (Measuring Mobile Broadband Networks in Europe) which aims at designing, building and operating an open, European-scale, and flexible platform with multihoming capabilities. The main objective of the MONROE research project is to use the platform for the identification of key MBB performance parameters, thus enabling accurate, realistic and meaningful monitoring and assessment of the performance of MBB networks. His primary research interests are system-level optimization techniques for the design of digital systems.
Miguel Peón Quirós received his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in 2001. After his graduation he worked for several years as a Teaching Assistant at UCM, leading various knowledge transfer projects between the university and industry, and also at the same time being an E.C. Marie Curie Scholar at IMEC, Belgium. In 2015 he obtained a PhD in Computer Architecture, also from UCM, and under the supervision of Dr. José M. Mendías Cuadros (UCM, Spain) and Dr. Francky Catthoor (IMEC and KULeuven, Belgium).
IMDEA Networks is not entirely new to Miguel, since he worked for the Institute as a Research Engineer in 2013, under the direction of Dr. Dejan Kostić.
