Pablo Jiménez Mateo new PhD Student

Pablo Jiménez Mateo has become a member of the IMDEA Networks research team. He will be working as a PhD Student within the Wireless Networking Group led by Dr. Joerg Widmer, whilst he undertakes the Ph.D. program at University Carlos III of Madrid. His main areas of interest are Wireless Networks, Computer Security, Cellular Networks, and the Internet of Things.


Pablo Jiménez MateoPablo holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Computational Mathematics and another in Computer Engineering, both from Universitat Jaume I at Castellón de la Plana (Spain). He is also about to complete an MSc in Intelligent Systems from the same university.

Prior to his incorporation to IMDEA Networks his professional experience has focused on several undergraduate internships: in "Generation of georeferenced alerts based on the study of the interaction of users in social networks" (Big Data), "Design and development of a self-organized system for emergency management traffic accesses on Castellón de la Plana" (Intelligent systems) and "Development of an agent based distributed system for the analysis of real-time traffic" (Intelligent systems). He is also the founder of his hometown’s hackerspace, undertaken a postgraduate course in Computer Security and worked with data compression as part of his Bachelor's thesis.
