IMDEA Networks Institute participates in the 5G “ignition-phase” events organized by the European Commission (EC) at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC’15) in Barcelona (2-5 March). The objective is to present the status of EU work on 5G, the ubiquitous ultra-broadband network that will carry the Future Internet, and is expected to withstand data connections 1,000 times heavier than today's.

His main areas of interest are Online Social Networks, Online Advertising, Privacy, Large Scale Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Network Measurement, and Content Distribution Networks.

Building on two decades of incremental research on data storage, IMDEA Networks launches the scientific project ATOMICDFS, with the aim to tackle the challenge of “Seeking Efficient Atomic Implementations of Distributed Data Storage”.

The head of the Directorate General of Universities and Research of the regional government of Madrid, Lorena Heras Sedano, accompanied by the Deputy Director of Research, Juan Angel Boots Echevarría, visited on Tuesday, February 3rd, the headquarters of IMDEA Networks Institute, a research center on networks that places Madrid as a leading European region in the development of future network technologies.

Five IMDEA Networks publications have been accepted to appear at IEEE INFOCOM 2015 – the premier conference in telecommunication and computer networking research. Six of the Institute’s researchers have co-authored these articles.

He will be working as a Post-Doc Researcher from January 2015, as part of the Wireless Networking Group, led by Dr. Joerg Widmer, Research Professor at the Madrid Institute. His main areas of interest lie in cooperative communication, relaying and beamforming.

IMDEA Networks announces the publication of a Patent called “Segment Routing Application Segment”. This is a joint patent between IMDEA Networks (inventor: Pierre Francois) and Cisco Systems, USA (inventors: Stefano Previdi & Clarence Filsfils).
