IMDEA Networks announces its participation on the Erasmus Mundus Programme “TEAM”. This initiative will generate a network of excellence between Europe, Japan and Republic of Korea in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that summons up an international community of much-needed ICT skilled talent.

TEAMTEAM is an instrument to create durable and integral change in the manner that technologies for information and communication are taught, learnt and developed.  ICT is an ever developing field of research and innovation and a key factor for economic growth. Strong expectations are placed on advances on ICT to deliver viable solutions for societal challenges. Nevertheless, the participating countries, all leaders in ICT, recognize a present and upcoming deficit of skilled and internationally oriented young talents to nourish and sustain academia and industry for the years to come.

This Erasmus Mundus project will create the TEAM community of individuals and partners of higher education, research and industry, capable of adapting and working as an international team. Such an approach ensures that this community enjoys an undeniable advantage in today’s rapidly changing world.

The TEAM partnership brings together world class institutions with complementary experiences and knowledge in ICT with the common goal of creating a network of excellence in this area of knowledge as well as to innovate in doctoral training. Through academic cooperation and mobility activities, the partnership will endeavor to work together as a cohesive group to develop new and innovative technologies, to enhance the career prospects of young researchers and the competitiveness of professional researchers, to promote intercultural understanding and to increase the attractiveness of European higher education.

This EU Erasmus Mundus Action 2 is coordinated by Université Pierre et Marie Curie (France). IMDEA Networks Institute is an Associated Partner in this project.
