Antonio Fernández Anta, Research Associate Professor at IMDEA Networks Institute, has been in the Steering Committee of the International Symposium on DIStributed Computing (DISC) since 2007; first as member at large during the period 2007-2009. He was elected Vice Chair in 2011, and promoted to Chair in 2013. He will now be the Steering Committee Chair until 2015. DISC 2014, now in its twenty-eighth edition, will be celebrated on October 2014, in Austin, Texas, USA.
DISC is an international forum on the theory, design, analysis, implementation and application of distributed systems and networks. It is organized in cooperation with the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science (EATCS). This conference, in collaboration with PODC (the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing), awards annually the highly recognised Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing.
DISC has established itself as a high-quality forum to address these challenges in the context of a conference that is rich in intense interactions and based on innovative contributions by experts in the field. DISC aims to present original submissions of high-quality research papers on the topics described above.
