1st ETSI NFV PLUGTESTS
23 January 2017 - 8:00am to 7:00pm
Location:

IMDEA Networks Institute, Avda. del Mar Mediterráneo 22, 28918 Leganés – Madrid

ETSI Centre for Testing and Interoperability will be organizing its first NFV PlugtestsTM event on 23 January to 3 February 2017, hosted by 5TONIC Laboratory, headquartered at IMDEA Networks Institute, in Leganés, Madrid, Spain.

Overview

The NFV Plugtest will offer test sessions where vendors and Open Source projects will be able to assess the level of interoperability of their implementations and verify the correct interpretation of the ETSI NFV specifications.

Companies and Open Source projects, interested in joining the test sessions with any of the following components, are invited to participate:

• Virtual Network Functions (VNFs)
• Management and Orchestration (MANO) solutions
• NFV Infrastructure (NFVI) with pre-integrated Virtual Infrastructure Manager (VIM)

Please note that we welcome several companies teaming up to provide and support one of these three components.

Participation with remote implementations will be enabled, but the presence of at least one representative in the Plugtest will be required to ensure on-site support and facilitate communication and logistics.

Scope

The Plugtest will allow to validate ETSI NFV Release 2 capabilities and Information Model, and will include the following areas:

  • Virtual Network Function Package Management
  • Software Image Management
  • Network Service Descriptor Management
  • Virtual Network Function Life Cycle Management
  • Network Service Life Cycle Management
  • Virtual Network Function Performance Management
  • Network Service Performance Management
  • Virtual Network Function Fault Management
  • Network Service Fault Management

Timeline

The first NFV Plugtest will be preceded by a remote integration and pre-testing phase, where participants will be able to connect their implementations through a virtual lab environment.

The face to face NFV Plugtest will run over 2 weeks, from 23rd of January to 3rd of February.

The first week of this Plugtest (23-27 January) will be dedicated to on-site infrastructure deployment and pre-testing. The presence of participants bringing infrastructure locally to the host venue will be required during this week.

The second week (30 January-3 February) will be dedicated to interoperability test sessions among local and remote NFV components. The on-site presence of at least one representative of each participating company (or team) will be required, even if their implementation remains remote.

Conditions
