Sala 1.1/2 IMDEA Networks Institute, Avda. del Mar Mediterráneo 22, 28918 Leganés – Madrid
Programmable networks or Software Defined Networking (SDN) offers new opportunities to manage computer networks: make networks smart, introduce new service faster. However, in real world, there are not enough deployments in industries due to significant organization and technical difficulties: hybrid OpenFlow switches, the complexity in SDN applications developing, interacting with non-OpenFlow networks, reliability. The talk presents experience on applying SDN/OpenFlow in real networks: challenges, recommendations, and best practices.
